FAQ's
1 - Do your tours include pick up and drop off and is there any hotels/caravan parks etc you won't pick up from? >>
- All of our Darwin Day Tours and Aussie Adventure Tours include complimentary hotel pick up and drop off where ever you are located within Darwin and surrounding suburbs.
- Tiwi Island tours depart from the airport which you will need to find your own way to.
2 - How many passengers will be on our tour? >>
- Our day tours around Darwin will have anywhere up to 25 people maximum.
- Our extended Kakadu 1 and 2 day tours also have up to 21 people maximum.
- The 3 day Kakadu Cultural Camp 4WD Safari tour has a maximum of 16 people and our Tiwi Island tours take up to a maximum of 18 passengers.
3 - Will there be a driver guide on all tours or will there be a tour host + guide? >>
- All of our tours include a driver guide only, except for our Tiwi Island tours. There will generally be a driver guide + a Tiwi Island guide also.
4 - For the Tiwi Tours, do we get picked up from our hotel in Darwin , and if not what is the easiest way to get to the airport? >>
- There isn't a complimentary pick up and drop off for Tiwi Tours, however you can get to the airport by taxi which should be approximately $20. There are other shuttle services, however the most efficient would be the use of the taxis. Make sure you leave yourself atleast 15 – 20 minutes to arrive at the airport by 7:30am to depart on your flight by 8am.
5 - Will we get to speak directly to the Tiwi Islanders? >>
- Yes. You will be able to communicate directly to the Artists of the Tiwi Islands as well as the Tiwi Ladies and men that perform the song and dance ceremony.
6 - What types of vehicles do you use on each tour? >>
- We have a range of vehicles available which can be found here
- Our Isuzu 4WD vehicles are used on the Kakadu Cultural Camp 3 day tours.
- Our Landcruiser is used for various tours including charters
7 - I would like to visit Kakadu, Litchfield and Tiwi Islands , but I only have 3 days – would I be able to visit these areas?>>
- There are 1 day tours for each of these destinations, however I would highly recommend staying in the Top End for atleast 7 Days to really gain an insight into the area.
8 - I am a senior card holder and my partner is a pensioner, are we eligible for any discounts? >>
- Yes. Aussie Adventure offers discounts on all tours. Please see tour list for discount amounts.
9 - I suffer from a bad back, are there any tours you wouldn't recommend I do? >>
- It really depends on the extent of the injury. Sometimes the drive out to Kakadu could prove uncomfortable (even though we do break it up a bit). The main difference is the amount of driving involved in the different tours. With Litchfield, you are only 1hour ½ from Darwin City , and there are no real long distances in between stops. We provide comfortable beds (on all our tours), lots of stops, no long hikes and beautiful refreshing swimming holes to relax your muscles. Click here for more details.
10 - I am in a wheelchair, do you have facilities for me to be able to join and enjoy all of your tours? >>
- Aussie Adventure are able to take clients in a wheel chair, however there must be a carer traveling also. Most of the extended tours visit areas that aren't wheelchair accessible, however there would still be facilities in some areas. Please contact reservations for further information regarding access on our tours.
11 - I would like to take my 75 year old father on the 3 Day Kakadu Cultural Camp 4WD Safari tour. He is still fairly active; would this tour be suitable for him? >>
- Certain areas of Kakadu are very special and not built with walk ways and stairs anywhere, there is slightly rough terrain to walk over to reach certain sites or areas. Generally as we are a small group tour, the guide will determine the overall fitness level of the group and make a decision on whether the scheduled attractions are appropriate places to go. We also visit Jim Jim & Twin Falls as well as Maguk (Barramundi Falls) on this tour which can prove quite difficult to walk in and out of. We have had many clients of the same age and fitness level visit Jim Jim & Twin Falls and Maguk over the years, however if you have further concerns please ask our friendly reservations team. Other exclusive and unique tours that may be better suited would be our Tiwi Island tour. See Tours for further details.
